AOA General Secretary Lakhya Konwar, along with Assam Ministers Nandita Garlosa, Pijush Hazarika, and Jayanta Malla Baruah, attended the occasion.

“Assam is an emerging powerhouse of sports talent,” Sarbananda Sonowal told the gathering. I have no doubt that our athletes will represent the state with honor in the next National Games by displaying unwavering enthusiasm and outstanding performances. I encourage all athletes to give it their all, using concentration, discipline, and devotion as a framework.

“This world is a sports arena, and sports are the playground of peace,” said Sarbananda Sonowal, quoting Dr. Bhupen Hazarika, the state’s cultural hero. For a long time, sports have been seen as a sign of harmony, calm, and superiority in both the mind and body. Athletes may showcase and develop their skills in competitions like the National Games. Assam has successfully hosted a number of significant sporting events in the past, fostering an atmosphere that encourages the development of fresh talent and raises the bar for sports in the state.

Sarbananda Sonowal drew attention to Assam’s revolutionary development in the sports industry over the last ten years.

“India’s sports scene has grown significantly under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s inspiring leadership. The South Asian Games, the third Khelo India Youth Games, FIFA U-17 World Cup matches, and the AIBA Youth Women’s World Boxing Championship are just a few of the major national and international competitions that Assam has held. Assam is becoming a crucial center on India’s sports map as a result of these events,” Sonowal remarked.

Sarbananda Sonowal praised the Assam Olympic Association’s efforts, including the 2022 Assam Youth Olympics, which gave the state’s young athletes a chance to develop.

“We’re still determined to take action to provide our players thorough training and assistance. “I am confident that the Assam team will bring honors to the state and surpass its previous medal total at the National Games,” Sonowal said.

The importance of sports in contemporary times was again emphasized by the AOA President. “Sports-proficient nations also have outstanding achievement in other domains. Sports foster self-control, resiliency, and optimism, all of which advance the general well-being of people and communities. To achieve the goal of ranking among India’s top five states, Assam has to be a shining example of leadership in sports. “I have faith that our athletes will embody these principles and put on outstanding performances,” Sonowal said.

To fulfill the mental and physical challenges of competitiveness at the national level, the Assam contingent has undergone extensive preparation. The state hopes to continue its path of greatness and set new sports records with the help of the Assam Olympic Association and the government.
