Assam CM attends the presentation of the Gelephu Mindfulness City project
Thimphu: On Wednesday, while visiting the neighboring Kingdom of Bhutan, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma attended an enlightening presentation on the Gelephu Mindfulness City Project. The presentation included insightful information on the project’s goals and structure.
Druk Holding and Investments Limited representatives outlined their current programs designed to promote both economic growth and environmental sustainability.
Bhutan’s energy initiatives were also highlighted in the presentation, with an emphasis on how they may strengthen Assam and Bhutan’s common interests.
CM Sarma extended an invitation to the participating businesspeople and dignitaries to join the next Advantage Assam 2.0 conference, which would focus on investment and infrastructural prospects.
The governor of the Gelephu Mindfulness City Project, Dr. Lotay Tshering, held a luncheon for CM Sarma after the presentation.
The Chief Minister later visited with the respected spiritual leader Sadhguru at India House in Thimphu, accompanied by his wife, Riniki Bhuyan Sharma. They discussed a range of spiritual topics, which CM Sarma said was a really enlightening experience.
The conversation was also attended by India’s ambassador to Bhutan, Sudhakar Dalela, and his wife, Namrata Dalela, as well as Bhutan’s prime minister, Dasho Tshering Tobgay, and his spouse, Tashi Doma.
Arun Kapur, a well-known educationist with more than 40 years of distinguished work in the field, also spoke with the CM.
During the 117th National Day ceremonies, CM Sarma congratulated Kapur on receiving the coveted Bura Marp, or Red Scarf, from His Majesty the King of Bhutan.
The Chief Minister prayed and asked for blessings for peace and prosperity at the revered Simtokha Dzong, a famous spiritual and cultural site in Bhutan.
