Asaduddin Owaisi said this about the UP government at the new police post in Sambhal

Asaduddin Owaisi, the chief of the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM), made fun of the building of a police outpost next to Sambhal’s Jama Masjid on Saturday, claiming that the Uttar Pradesh government only has funds for police posts and alcoholic beverage establishments.

“In Sambhal, a police station is being constructed in front of Jama Masjid. No matter where you travel in the nation, the government does not establish hospitals or schools. In a post on X, Owaisi said, “If anything is built, it’s a liquor bar and a police post.”

With the Rapid Action Force (RAF) in place to provide security, work has started on a new police station in Sambhal next to Jama Masjid. This move, which attempts to bolster security and stop any unrest, follows previous violence in the region that claimed lives.

“This police post is being constructed to protect the places near the Sambhal’s Jama Masjid,” said ASP Sambhal Shrish Chandra.This is the reason behind the construction.

SP Krishnan Kumar Bishnoi emphasized that the purpose of the police stations is to improve surveillance, expedite justice, and increase security.

“Police posts are being established in every major area of Sambhal, including near Khaggu Sarai, to enhance security, facilitate justice, and ensure better surveillance and response to crimes,” he said.

In order to improve security in Sambhal, CCTV cameras are being erected and attempts are being made to reopen wells, according to District Magistrate Dr. Rajinder Pensiya.

“19 wells and 68 sacred places, a total of 87, are known as Dev Tirtha… many of the wells are being reopened as natural resources of water conservation by removing encroachment,” he said.

“To increase security, CCTV and smart meters are being placed… Regular anti-encroachment efforts are being conducted, with homeowners’ participation and notifications being used to remove temporary encroachments and address persistent ones,” he said.

Earlier, a team from the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) and local government visited a number of ancient sites on Wednesday in an attempt to repair wells and pilgrimage sites in Sambhal, Uttar Pradesh, and help people rediscover their religious traditions.
