Anushka Sharma was present at the Optus Stadium in Perth today during the first Test between India and Australia
Actress Anushka Sharma was present at Perth’s Optus Stadium on Saturday for the opening Test match between Australia and India. She supported the Indian team as captain Jasprit Bumrah and her husband Virat Kohli showed off their exceptional leadership chemistry by limiting Australia to a low score and giving India a first innings lead.
A number of images from the stadium that showed Anushka in a joyful mood went viral.
India chose to bat first in the match after winning the toss. The only batsman in the top order who could last for an extended period of time was KL Rahul (26 in 74 balls, with three fours), and they lost wickets often. India reached 150/10 thanks to a crucial 48-run partnership between Nitish Kumar Reddy (41 in 59 balls, with six fours and a six) and Rishabh Pant (37 in 78 balls, with three fours and a six).
With 4/29, Josh Hazlewood was the Australians’ leading wicket-taker. Alex Carey, Mitchell Starc, and captain Pat Cummins each received two.
Bumrah’s four-wicket haul helped Australia finish the first day at 67/7, a battling total. The top six hitters were all unable to reach the 20-run threshold. Mitchell Starc (26) and Carey (21) both reached the 20-run mark on day two, but the Australians could only muster 104 runs and took a 46-run advantage.
Harshit Rana (3/48) and Mohammed Siraj (2/20) bowled well, but Bumrah (5/30) opened the show for India.
