Ananya Panday did this with Sidharth Malhotra in Call Me Bae, watch
As shown by Collin D’Cunha’s recent Call Me Bae on Prime Video India, which stars Ananya Panday, life imitates art and vice versa. Ananya’s Bella Chowdhary, or Bae, and her husband Agastya, called Aggie (Vihaan Samat), tie the knot in a grandiose ceremony in the first episode that seems to have drawn inspiration from a high-profile Bollywood wedding that happened in real life.
Where have we observed this?
Ananya and Vihaan both make motions in the scene that mimic or parody Kiara Advani and Sidharth Malhotra’s wedding entrance video from the previous year. Along with sharing identical bridal gowns, Kiara and Sidharth’s first official wedding photo was taken in the mandap, where they conclude the video by pointing at each other with a namaste.

The scene is really set to the same music as Kiara’s bridal entrance in the 2021 military drama film Shershaah, starring Sidharth and Kiara and produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions. Jasleen Royal’s Ranjha is the song that plays during this moment. Dharmatic Entertainment, the digital division of Dharma Productions, is also supporting Call Me Bae.

The Call Me Bae scene made reference to more than only Sidharth and Kiara’s Jaisalmer Bollywood wedding, Vicky, Katrina’s wedding, and so on. Ananya’s voiceover quips cheekily, “Those aren’t fireworks,” as she and Vihaan’s characters watch the fireworks in the sky after the wedding. Simply put, the drones are being shot down.”
The ridiculous rumor that drones were shot down to preserve the event’s privacy first arose at Katrina Kaif and Vicky Kaushal’s 2022 wedding. Given that the two had never discussed their connection in public previously, theirs was definitely a private affair. Through their wedding photos, they made their relationship public right away.
Ishita Moitra is the creator of the film Call Me Bae, which also features Muskkaan Jaferi, Vir Das, Gurfateh Pirzada, Varun Sood, Mini Mathur, and Lisa Mishra. The main character of the show was Bae, a spoiled and affluent girl from South Delhi who goes to Mumbai to establish herself as a person after being homeless.
