Although four people have been taken into custody so far, the cause of this horrible act has not yet been identified.

Chhattisgarh Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma emphasized the need of highlighting the true cause of such crimes in an interview with ANI. “It must have been really painful for him,” he remarked. Although the state’s law and order situation is under control, the motive and plot behind the murder should be investigated.

He went on to say, “Mukesh Chandrakar was a highly intelligent journalist and one of my favorite journalists. The manner in which he was killed is heartbreaking. Three offenders were already apprehended by police, and the fourth, the main suspect in this case, was also taken into custody from Hyderabad and sent to Bijapur. The inquiry is under progress, and their accounts and unauthorized addresses have been sealed. This murder case is being investigated by an 11-member SIT.

The primary suspect in the murder case of journalist Mukesh Chandrakar was already taken into custody by police. According to an official, the suspect has been apprehended after being on the run since the incident. The Bastar Police claim that the Special Investigation Team (SIT) captured the culprit, Suresh Chandrakar, in Hyderabad on Sunday evening. He is presently being questioned by authorities.

The corpse of Mukesh Chandrakar, who was brutally killed, was discovered in a septic tank on the private contractor Suresh Chandrakar’s premises. Three people—Ritesh Chandrakar, Dinesh Chandrakar, and Mahendra—have already been taken into custody by police in relation to the murder. Tragically, the hunt for a journalist from Bijapur who had been missing since January 1 came to an end on Friday when his death was discovered in a septic tank on the property of a private contractor in the area.

One of the interlocutors who was instrumental in the rescue of a CRPF policeman kidnapped by the Naxals during an encounter in Bijapur in 2021 was Mukesh Chandrakar. In Bastar, he was actively reporting on encounters, assaults, and other matters involving the Naxals.
