Amritsar: Devidaspura village 23 kilograms of heroin is seized by rural police
Amritsar: According to Punjab DGP, Amritsar Rural Police have successfully retrieved 23 kg of heroin from the hamlet of Devi Daspura, Jandiala, dealing a serious blow to trans-border smuggling. The shipment is connected to a smuggling network run by Lucky, a smuggler headquartered in the United States.

Devi Daspura resident Sahilpreet Singh has been named in this case, and many police units are aggressively attempting to apprehend him.
At PS Jandiala, a formal complaint is filed under the NDPS Act. Additional research is being conducted to identify forward and backward connections within the smuggling network.
In two different incidents, the Amritsar Commissionerate Police recently apprehended four narcotics traffickers and found 5.06 kilograms of heroin in their hands.
The arrested have been identified as Rinku of Basti Dune Wali in Guru Har Sahai, Ferozepur; Sahil Kumar alias Sahil of village Ghariyala in Tarn Taran; Jagjit Singh of village Rania in Amritsar; and Gurjant Singh alias Kalu of village Bachiwind in Amritsar, according to a statement from the Punjab Information and Public Relations Department.
DGP Gaurav Yadav said as stated in the release. “The people who were detained had links with drug traffickers from Pakistan who were utilizing drones to transport drugs over the border for further distribution in various parts of Amritsar.
At the Cantonment and Sadar Amritsar Police Stations, two distinct FIRs have been filed in accordance with the applicable provisions of the NDPS Act,” he said.
In the days ahead, there will probably be more arrests and recoveries. According to Gurpreet Singh Bhullar, Commissioner of Police (CP), Amritsar, who shared the specifics of the first case, “Based on credible intelligence, police teams from Contonment Police Station under the supervision of DCP Harpreet Singh Mander, ADCP City-2 Harkamal Kaur, and ACP West Shivdarshan Singh conducted a special operation and apprehended the suspects identified as Gurjant Kalu and Jagjit Singh from the Mahal Bypass area and seized 3.067 kg of heroin from their possession.”
According to him, “Similarly, Police teams from CIA Staff-1, led by Inspector Amolakdeep Singh, arrested two more accused–identified as Sahil Kumar and Rinku–based on further investigation and interrogation of arrested accused, recovering an additional 2 kg of heroin from their possession.”
The accused, Rinku, is operating a large hawala network to transfer the illicit proceeds of the drug trafficking to several suppliers, according to the preliminary investigation. “Further investigate,” he continued.
