Amritsar Commissionerate Police busted a cross-border terror module and arrested 10 people

Amritsar: In a significant operation, the Amritsar Commissionerate Police arrested ten individuals, including four key operators and six engaged in logistical support, dismantling a cross-border terror network connected to Pakistan-based operations, police said on Friday.

The authorities said that the terror group, led by Harvinder Rinda and his international partners Happy Passian and Jeevan Fauji, was preparing an assault on a police station in Batala, Punjab.

In a significant development, Commissionerate Police Amritsar has arrested ten individuals, including four key operatives and six involved in logistic support, successfully dismantling a cross-border terror module run by Harvinder Rinda, a Pakistani, and Happy Passian, a foreigner, Jeevan Fauji, and others. “The module planned a larger attack on a police establishment in Batala and was responsible for an attack on a police officer’s home,” Punjab Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav wrote on X.

According to investigators, the terror module was behind the assault on a Batala police officer’s home. They also found a Chinese drone suspected of being used illegally, three handguns, and a hand grenade on the accused.

Three handguns, a Chinese drone suspected of cross-border usage, and one hand grenade were recovered. This action demonstrates Punjab Police’s continuous commitment to protecting its people and fighting organized crime and terrorism. To find more connections and eliminate dangers to peace and harmony, investigations are still on, DGP Yadav said.
