Amid increasing atrocities on Hindus in Bangladesh, Hindu organizations protested and took out rallies in Assam
Assam: In response to growing crimes against Hindus in Bangladesh, Hindu organizations in Assam organized protests and held demonstrations around the state on Tuesday.
Many people attended a protest march organized by Lok Jagaran Manch in the Biswanath district, where they sang anti-Bangladesh government chants and called for an end to the crimes committed against Hindus.
The demonstrators also called for minorities in the neighboring nation to be protected and secure.
As stated by Lok Jagaran Manch leader Sattar Singh Powar to ANI, “We will send a memorandum to the President of India and the Prime Minister seeking their intervention on it and to ensure the safety and security of the minority Hindu people in Bangladesh.”
In the same vein, Lok Jagaran Manch organized protest rallies and marches in the Dhubri area, calling for an end to Bangladesh’s continuous crimes against minorities and communal violence.
The Raja Prabhat Chandra Baruah Ground in Dhubri town served as the venue for the event.
With signs in hand, demonstrators called for a stop to the crimes committed against minorities in the neighboring nation.
Via the Dhubri District Commissioner, Lok Jagaran Manch sent a note to Professor Mohammad Yunus, the Chief Advisor to the Bangladeshi interim government.
The Hojai area also saw protests calling on the Indian government to take prompt action on the matter.
Notably, after the rise in violence against different religious minorities in the neighboring nation, India has tightened restrictions on visas.
According to a spokeswoman for the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) Kolkata, more than 60 monks were reportedly detained at Bangladesh’s Benapole land port over the weekend and denied entry into India.
In light of the recent assault on his former counsel, ISKCON Kolkata Vice President Radharaman appealed to the Bangladeshi government on Tuesday to ensure protection for Chinmoy Krishna Das’s advocate.

Hindu spiritual guru Chinmoy Krishna Das, who was detained on suspicion of sedition, had no respite.A Bangladeshi court scheduled the case’s next hearing for January 2, 2025, on Tuesday. It is anticipated that Chinmoy Krishna Das, who is now under arrest, will stay behind bars.
According to the Daily Star Bangladesh, the Chattogram court postponed the hearing on Chinmoy Krishna Das’ bail appeal till January 2.
Due to the absence of the defense attorney, Chattogram Metropolitan Session Judge Saiful Islam rescheduled the hearing.
