Ajay Rai said that he will support Samajwadi Party with full force in the upcoming by-election
Varanasi: In the impending by-election in the Milkipur seat, Uttar Pradesh Congress President Ajay Rai on Monday pledged his “full strength” support to the Samajwadi Party, a partner of the INDIA bloc.
“The INDIA coalition has the complete backing of Congress. The people of Milkipur will give the BJP a lesson this time around, Rai said in the media report, despite their efforts to abuse government machinery in order to win elections.
The Congress, an ally of the Samajwadi Party’s INDIA bloc, has declared its support for the SP candidate and has chosen not to run a candidate from Milkipur.
Awadhesh Prasad of the Samajwadi Party (SP), who was elected to the Lok Sabha from Faizabad in the general election last year, abandoned the seat, necessitating the poll in the Milkipur constituency.
Votes will be tallied on February 8 after the February 5 by-election in Milkipur.
Awadhesh Prasad’s son, Ajit Prasad, has been put up by the SP for the by-elections.
Chandrabhan Paswan is the candidate put forth by the Bharatiya Janata Party. On Thursday, he submitted his nomination.
“I am grateful to the people of Milkipur, BJP leaders Yogi Adityanath, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi for their faith in me. I promise to work tirelessly for the people.” The subject of growth and serving the public with the blessings of the people and Lord Ram will continue to be the major emphasis. “I will strive to secure the seat for the BJP,” Paswan said.
The Samajwadi Party had earlier sent a note to Uttar Pradesh’s Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) requesting that all 414 voting places in the Milkipur assembly seat be streamed online.
In order to monitor the voting process and guarantee free, fair, and transparent elections, the party has asked that the webcasting URL be sent to the candidates and recognized political parties.
Given that the BJP lost the Faizabad parliamentary seat to the Samajwadi Party in the Lok Sabha election last year, the Milkipur by-election is anticipated to be a very significant contest.
