AICC Delhi in-charge Qazi Nizamuddin expressed confidence in Congress’ appeal to voters

New Delhi: All India Congress Committee (AICC) Delhi in-charge Qazi Nizamuddin voiced confidence in the Congress’ ability to win over voters ahead of the February 5, 2025, Delhi Assembly elections. He emphasized that the party’s campaign will center on important problems that affect the people. Nizamuddin emphasized that Congress only makes commitments that it has effectively carried out in the states that it controls.

“In states that are governed by Congress, Congress merely announces what we have already done. He said, “We don’t make hollow promises.

According to Nizamuddin, the Congress party’s top concerns are to clean up the Yamuna, protect women, eradicate corruption, and fight unemployment—all of which he says the current Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) administration has overlooked.

“On February 5th, Delhi residents will cast their ballots for a cleaner Yamuna, employment, women’s safety, and freedom from corruption. In reference to the AAP’s ten-year reign, Nizamuddin said, “Elections are fought on perception in Delhi, and the people of Delhi have seen a lot in the last ten years.”

He presented Congress as the party that could bring about significant change and criticized the current administration for its shortcomings in these areas.

“A very good situation is developing for Congress in Delhi,” Congress leader Harish Rawat told ANI in reference to the upcoming elections in Delhi. People are looking for the earlier stages of development. The development of Delhi has stalled. The purpose of this election is to restore Sheila Dikshit’s time.

The Delhi Legislative Assembly has been informed of the election dates by the Indian Election Commission.

February 5 is the day of the single-phase election, while February 8 is the date of the vote count. Nominations must be submitted by January 17. The nominations will be examined on January 18. However, January 20 is the deadline for withdrawing one’s candidacy.

The AAP, which wants to win power for the third time in a row, is emphasizing its accomplishments in the fields of health and education while the BJP has charged the AAP leaders with corruption and poor administration.

Parvesh Verma, a former MP and the son of former Delhi Chief Minister Sahib Singh Verma, has been put up by the BJP to run against Arvind Kejriwal for the New Delhi seat. With Sandeep Dikshit, son of former Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dixit, running for the same seat, the Congress has also joined the race.

In the Kalkaji seat, the Congress has put forth former MLA Alka Lamba, while the BJP has put in former MP Ramesh Bidhuri to challenge Delhi CM Atishi.

The Congress, which ruled Delhi for 15 years in a row, has lost both of the most recent assembly elections and has not been able to secure any seats. In contrast, the BJP only received eight seats in the 2020 assembly elections, while the AAP won 62 of 70 seats.
