After the victory of Mahayuti alliance in Maharashtra, Congress’s Rashid Alvi said this
Rashid Alvi, the head of the Congress, announced his displeasure with the Maharashtra election results on Saturday, calling them “unacceptable.”
After the results of the elections in Maharashtra and Jharkhand were announced, Alvi told ANI that democracy and India had lost.
Rashid Alvi, a congress politician, stated: “This has never occurred in India before. Elections in Maharashtra were conducted soon after Haryana, and almost all of the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) candidates won. India lost, but Maharashtra went to the BJP. Democracy has failed. The Constitution has been defeated.
“The elections in Maharashtra are unacceptable,” he said.
Notably, the Maharashtra assembly elections were won by the governing Mahayuti coalition. With the support of its partners, the Shiv Sena and NCP, the BJP led the Mahayuti and won a landslide win.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasized his “Ek hain toh safe hain” mantra during celebrations at the BJP headquarters after the overwhelming victory, stating that unity is the main takeaway from the Maharashtra elections.
Congress leader Udit Raj responded to PM Modi’s remarks after Mahayuti’s victory in the 2024 Maharashtra election by saying, “After his ‘ek hain toh safe hain’ slogan, PM Modi claimed that they had won because people had united to vote for them. Why didn’t they win Jharkhand if this is the case? It would have occurred long ago if they had prevailed in Savarkar’s honor.
He also referred to the Maharashtra assembly vote results as “suspicious,” expressing doubt about them.
“All they’re doing is attempting to hide. A strange event occurred during the elections in Maharashtra. “We are skeptical of the EVM,” he said.
Notably, the NCP, headed by Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, won 41 seats, the Shiv Sena, led by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, got 57 seats, and the BJP won 132 seats. There are 288 assembly seats in the state.
Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) voters were rudely shocked when Uddhav Thackeray’s Shiv Sena (UBT) won 20 seats, Congress 16, and Sharad Pawar’s NCP (SCP) only won 10.
With 133 of the 148 seats it ran for in Maharashtra, the BJP had an incredible strike rate. The NCP and Shiv Sena, the party’s partners, also enjoy excellent strike rates.
On November 20, Maharashtra conducted its legislative elections.
The coalition formed by the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha is expected to hold onto power in Jharkhand. In Jharkhand, the assembly elections were held in two stages. November 13 and November 20 were the dates of the first and second phases, respectively.
