After JPC members met Om Birla on Waqf Bill, AAP MP Sanjay Singh said this

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MP Sanjay Singh said on Monday that the members of the Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) on the Waqf (Amendment) Bill have objected to the JPC report after meeting with Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla. He stated that only after hearing all of the arguments from the various parties could the report be made.

Speaker Om Birla calmly listened to the concerns and promised to extend the deadline for turning in the Waqf report, according to Singh, an upper house member. He stated that the (JPC) trip was canceled in the middle and that it was held in two locations without a quorum.

“We discussed our concerns with the Speaker of the Lok Sabha, to which we had two or three significant objections. The tour was abruptly canceled. Two locations on the trip were not attended by a quorum, and the other locations should be visited. The ministry’s report should be finished, but the conversation is still ongoing. A number of Waqf Board members have not yet been before the JPC; this has to be done.

After hearing all of the arguments made by the various parties, a JPC report is created. It is not possible to compose and turn in a JPC report in a single day while holding hands. AAP MP Sanjay Singh said, “The Speaker informed us that we will extend the time limit for delivering our report to the JPC after listening to all of these things in a most courteous manner.

The Speaker of the House presided over the joint session of the Parliament prior to the separate sessions of the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha. The Parliament is scheduled to introduce sixteen measures during its session, which ends on December 20.

Notably, the Waqf (Amendment) bill will be presented after the collection of witness statements and testimony from several stakeholders by a thorough Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) chaired by MP Jagdambika Pal.

The Waqf Bill amendment, which the central government was attempting to introduce in the winter session of Parliament, would be opposed by the All India Muslim Personal Law Board, according to Naseer Ahmed, political secretary to the Karnataka Chief Minister. According to him, the Muslim community had no choice but to oppose the Waqf (Amendment) Bill.
