ADG Ravi Gandhi reviews operational preparedness and current security scenario along India-Bangladesh international border

Guwahati: During his three-day visit to the Guwahati frontier’s area of responsibility, Ravi Gandhi, Additional Director General (ADG), BSF Eastern Command, Kolkata, examined the operational readiness and current security situation along the Indo-Bangladesh international border in West Bengal’s Cooch Behar district.

Sanjay Gaur, the Inspector General (IG) of the Guwahati Frontier, and top staff officials briefed Ravi Gandhi on the first day of his visit to the Sector Headquarters in Cooch Behar.

The briefing’s main topics were the security threats that Bangladesh’s instability is now posing and the steps being taken to address them. To ensure the safety and security of the border regions, the talks focused on ways to manage transborder crimes and stop infiltration in any form.

Additionally, the BSF ADG went to boundary Out Posts (BOPs) under Sector HQ Cooch Behar’s authority along the international boundary between Bangladesh and India.

In his interactions with field commanders, he evaluated the operational readiness to address any threats and went over the border control strategy in detail.

The BSF ADG emphasized how crucial it is to keep the border peaceful and quiet in order to protect local residents and prevent border crime. He commended the BSF members’ unceasing efforts and steadfast commitment to protecting the country’s borders.

He praised the efforts made by the Guwahati Frontier to reduce crime along the Indo-Bangladesh border and the BSF personnel’s successful and efficient defense of the international boundary.

In order to preserve the integrity of the international border between Bangladesh and India, he advised all troops to continue being watchful and doing an excellent job.
