Eight months after making his electoral debut, actor Vijay created a big impression in the political sphere on Sunday when he attended his maiden rally in the Villupuram district. Vijay presented his party’s platform during the gathering, highlighting social justice, equality, secularism, and the advancement of Tamil as the official language of the courts. Additionally, he supported the removal of the governor’s position. Vijay emphasized that secular social justice ideals will be promoted by his Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) party.

Vijay said, “This is not a cinema field; it is a battlefield,” and he urged his party members to take their political duty seriously and be attentive.

Vijay took a bold stand against corruption and polarizing politics, subtly criticizing the BJP and DMK. He called the first opponent of TVK a “political enemy” who controls a corrupt government, and the second a “ideological enemy” who practices polarizing politics.

“TVK’s main ideological adversaries are those who are destroying the nation with divided politics. The actor said, “The next is a self-centered family that is stealing from Tamil Nadu under the guise of the Dravida model (governance) by using the names of Periyar and Anna; they are our political adversaries.”

As they entered politics, Vijay said that the late veterans MG Ramachandran and NT Ramarao were mocked as just movie stars, “but they continue to remain in the hearts of the people” of their respective states, Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh.

“Some individuals here have been painting those who want to join politics a certain color, deceiving others, but they will be engaging in covert activities, making noise during elections, and constantly bringing up fascism. And incite terror among the united people of the majority-minority,” he warned, speaking at the state public conference in this district, Vikravandi, which was heavily attended.

Vijay emphasized the value of Tamil in his impassioned speech to the audience, calling it the “language of the court and temple” in Tamil Nadu. He pledged to keep Tamil at the forefront of the state’s identity and called for a cultural revival that respects the area’s rich legacy.

Tamil Nadu Politics: A New Era?

Many people are attentively observing Vijay’s actions as a result of his foray into politics. TVK will be put to the test in the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections. Vijay has made a clear statement with his rally that he is dedicated to changing the state.
