Actor Mohan Babu expressed “deep regret” over the incident
For reportedly attacking a journalist at his home in Jalpalli, Rangareddy district, on the evening of December 10, 2024, veteran Telugu actor Mohan Babu has apologized.
The actor said he felt “deep regret” for the event, calling it an act of impulsive behavior in the “heat of the moment” when 30 to 50 people reportedly broke into his home with the intention of hurting everyone inside.
Mohan Babu sent an apologetic letter on his X account, which said:
“In the heat of the moment, when my gate was broken and approximately 30-50 individuals, including anti-social elements, forcibly barged into my house with the intent to harm those present, I lost my composure.”
The actor from Peda Rayudu expressed regret to the reporter for being hurt in the fight.
“The media unintentionally became involved in the situation amid this chaos,” he stated. Unfortunately, one of your journalists, Mr. Ranjith, was hurt while I was trying to control the situation. I sincerely apologize for the suffering and difficulty this has caused him, his family, and the TV9 community. It was a very unfortunate conclusion.
In addition, Mohan Babu reaffirmed his apologies and wished the journalist a quick recovery.

Following the claimed attack, the journalist filed a formal complaint at 10:55 p.m. the same day, according to the police FIR. Sub-Inspector B. Dayakar Reddy of the Pahadishareef Police Station took a recording of the statement.
According to reports, the journalist had been to Mohan Babu’s house earlier that night to report on a family conflict that has received a lot of media attention.
The complainant said that around 8:05 p.m., Manchu Manoj brought him and other reporters into the home to cover the continuing hostilities between the father and son. However, Mohan Babu is accused of aggressively confronting the journalist throughout their reportage.
The actor allegedly grabbed the reporter’s phone and microphone with force, shouted foul language, and assaulted him with the microphone, which allegedly had a metal logo and a steel pipe. The journalist reportedly suffered a serious head injury from the incident, which resulted in substantial bleeding.
