AAP’s Sanjay Singh: BJP will be “wiped out” in the upcoming Delhi assembly elections

New Delhi: Sanjay Singh, a member of the Aam Aadmi Party, publicly attacked the Bharatiya Janata Party, claiming that the BJP would be “wiped out” in the next Delhi assembly elections regardless of how hard Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath try.

Sanjay Singh told the media, “No matter how hard UP CM Yogi Adityanath and PM Modi try or they could even call US President Donald Trump to campaign, the BJP will be wiped out in the Delhi elections.”

AAP lawmaker Sanjay Singh questioned the Election Commission’s capacity to guarantee free and fair elections, arguing that if it is unable to prevent BJP candidates from giving commodities in the assembly seat of New Delhi, how can it guarantee free and fair elections nationwide?

“On occasion, the BJP candidate would publicly give money, shoes, “chadar,” “lota,” and “chashma.” The New Delhi assembly constituency is home to the Election Commission of India’s office. “How will the Election Commission of India guarantee free and fair elections for the country if it cannot prevent the inconsistencies that are occurring in the New Delhi assembly constituency?” the AAP leader said.

The Rajya Sabha MP condemned the Delhi Police for “forcefully removing” the security cover after Arvind Kejriwal’s Punjab Police guard was removed. The ‘inaction’ of the Election Commission was another point of criticism from him.

“Punjab Police’s protection for Arvind Kejriwal was forcibly withdrawn by Delhi police, and there are many thugs in the vicinity brandishing clubs and rods. We are protesting to the Election Commission of India, but they are not taking any action; therefore, they have to investigate it,” he stated.

Yogi Adityanath, the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, criticized Arvind Kejriwal earlier on Thursday for the Yamuna pollution. CM Yogi said that previously last week, he and his state cabinet went to Prayagraj’s Sangam and presented Kejriwal with a similar challenge for the Yamuna.

The chief minister of Uttar Pradesh further said that Kejriwal had let Bangladeshi infiltrators get Aadhaar cards from devices in AAP officials’ houses. He compared the roadways of Noida to Delhi, highlighting the “piles of garbage” on Delhi’s streets.

Arvind Kejriwal, the leader of the AAP, said on Thursday that some of the opposition candidate’s supporters broke into his Hari Nagar public gathering and damaged his vehicle.

“The police in Hari Nagar today let the guys of the opposing candidate inside my public gathering before attacking my vehicle. Amit Shah has ordered all of this to occur. Kejriwal said on X that Amit Shah had turned the Delhi Police into the BJP’s personal army.

Concerns were also voiced by Kejriwal over the Election Commission’s passivity in response to his continuous assaults.

“Big questions are being raised on the Election Commission that the national president of a national party and its leaders are being constantly attacked and the Election Commission is unable to take any effective action,” Kejriwal said in the post.

Congressman Sandeep Dikshit said on Thursday that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) had been disbursing funds. He also said that the Election Commission had received complaints, but that nothing had been done about it.

On February 5, the Delhi Assembly elections will be held in a single phase, with the vote count scheduled on February 8. There are 699 contestants vying for Delhi’s 70 assembly seats.

The Congress, which ruled Delhi for 15 years in a row, has lost both of the most recent assembly elections and has not been able to secure any seats. The AAP, on the other hand, won 67 and 62 seats out of a total of 70 seats in the 2015 and 2020 assembly elections, respectively, while the BJP only managed to get three and eight seats.
