AAP MLA Gurpreet Gogi accidentally shot himself, due to which he died

Ludhiana: According to a Punjab Police officer, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Gurpreet Gogi inadvertently shot himself and was discovered dead with gunshot wounds late on Sunday night.

Gogi was taken to Dayanand Medical College and Hospital (DMC) after the event, which allegedly happened at approximately 12 am, and was pronounced dead there.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Jaskaran Singh Teja told the reporters, “According to the family, he shot himself by mistake and was shot in the head. Gurpreet Gogi was pronounced dead at the hospital, and his remains are being held at the DMC hospital morgue.

The DCP also said that upon receipt of the post-mortem report, the cause of death will be ascertained.

The DCP went on to say, “Once the post-mortem reports arrive, the cause of the death will be evident.”

According to authorities, the MLA was pronounced dead when he arrived at DMC hospital after the incident, which happened at approximately midnight.

According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Jaskaran Singh, “The incident happened around midnight, and he was declared dead when he was brought to the DMC hospital…”

Investigations are still in progress.

In 2022, Gogi joined the Aam Aadmi Party and won the Ludhiana assembly elections, defeating Bharat Bhushan Ashu, a two-time previous Congress MLA.
