Bollywood legend Aamir Khan and Oscar-nominated actress Emily Blunt will be honored at the 2024 Red Sea Film Festival, which will take place in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, from December 5 to 14.
According to Deadline, both actors will be honored on the first night of the festival, together with Egyptian film icon Mona Zaki, who was already named as the winner of the coveted prize.
Along with receiving the honors, Khan and Blunt will participate in the festival’s well-liked ‘In Conversation With’ section, which gives visitors a close-up look at their professional backgrounds and creative processes.
According to Deadline, Hollywood celebrities Eva Longoria, Andrew Garfield, and Bollywood’s Ranbir Kapoor are already on the roster of prominent speakers for this stream.
Over the years, Aamir Khan, one of India’s most prominent actors and directors, has continuously produced hit movies.
‘Dangal’ (2016), ‘Ghajini’, ‘3 Idiots’, ‘Dhoom 3’, ‘PK’, and the Oscar-nominated ‘Lagaan: Once Upon a Time in India'(2002) are some of his noteworthy works.
“Cinema has been my lifelong passion, and to be amidst such an inspiring group of artists from across the world is truly humbling,” Khan said in response to the praise, according to Deadline.
Known for her parts in “A Quiet Place” and “Sicario,” Emily Blunt has caused a stir in Hollywood with her outstanding performances.
The part Blunt played in Christopher Nolan’s ‘Oppenheimer’ (2023) earned her an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actress.
‘The Smashing Machine’, in which she co-stars with Dwayne Johnson, and a much-anticipated event picture directed by Steven Spielberg are future projects.
“I love all that this festival is doing for innovative and emerging talent in the film industry,” Blunt said in response to the honor. According to Deadline, “I’m especially excited by how they are empowering women in cinema and amplifying their voices.”
