A Naxalite was killed in an encounter with security forces in Chhattisgarh’s Bijapur district

According to police, a Naxal was killed Wednesday in the Bijapur region of Chhattisgarh after a confrontation with security personnel.

Bijapur police said that after the gunfight, a search operation was initiated in the area.

Two District Reserve Guard (DRG) members were hurt when a pressure improvised explosive device (IED) detonated nearby, according to Bijapur SP Jitendra Yadav.

“One naxal was killed in a firefight in Bijapur, while two DRG jawans were wounded in an IED detonation.

“A search is in progress,” SP Jitendra Yadav said.
