A mock drill on emergency and rescue operation was conducted in Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir
Jammu and Kashmir: In the Jammu and Kashmir area of Reasi, the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) practiced emergency and rescue operations. The event was organized on November 20 by the NDRF in cooperation with the District Administration Reasi, according to Javed Iqbal, Assistant Commandant 13th Battalion NDRF.
It was planned as part of a campaign to raise awareness and provide demonstrations on being ready to perform rescue operations in the event of natural catastrophes as well as other man-made disasters.
The 13th Battalion of the NDRF practiced earthquake and fire preparation at General Zorawar Singh Degree College in Reasi as part of the simulated exercise. According to an official announcement, they also demonstrated scene assessment, security, and shutting off building utilities.
The world’s tallest railway bridge, the Chenab Rail Bridge, which connects Bakkal and Kauri in the Reasi region of Jammu and Kashmir, was the site of a practice exercise earlier this week.
The District Police Reasi, in collaboration with the SOG, CRPF 126bn, GRP, RPF, SDRF, VDG, Civil Administration, Fire, Emergency, and Medical units, carried out the simulated exercise, according to the Jammu and Kashmir Police.
Chenab Bridge is a structural wonder that was constructed as part of the Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Link (USBRL) Project spanning a canyon in the Reasi district of Jammu & Kashmir.
This bridge is about 35 meters higher than the Eiffel Tower and was built 359 meters (about 109 feet) over the Chenab River in the Jammu and Kashmir area.
Muneer Ahmad Banday, a declared criminal with a Rs 5 lakh reward, was captured earlier Tuesday in Handwara, Jammu and Kashmir, by the Handwara police and the National Investigation Agency (NIA) in a coordinated operation.
The accused Muneer Ahmad Banday, a resident of Banday Mohalla in Handwara, was in possession of a Rs 5 lakh cash reward, according to a police release.
In relation to Case No. 03/2020, police said that the accused had been avoiding arrest since June 2020 in accordance with sections 8/21 NDPS 17, 18, 20 UAPA, 120-B, and 121 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
According to the announcement, Muneer Ahmad Banday was a part of a drug smuggling case worth millions of dollars, which had a big impact on financing illicit activity.
