Former ISRO Chairman Dr. S. Somnath and his family attended the Mahakumbh Mela 2025 in Prayagraj earlier on Tuesday. They prayed at the biggest religious assembly in the world and had a holy bath in the revered Triveni Sangam.
“Maha Kumbh was experienced as humanity’s search for the connection to the universe and have the ‘Amrut’, the nectar of life,” Somnath posted on social media. Alongside Sadhus, I enjoyed a lovely snan in the Triveni Sangam.
The Maha Kumbh, according to the previous chairman of ISRO, is a representation of humanity’s quest for a link to the cosmos and the “nectar of life.” He spoke of contemplating the event’s spiritual importance while taking a delightful holy plunge at the Triveni Sangam with Sadhus.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath earlier Monday praised Prime Minister Modi’s leadership for reviving the nation’s trust and respect throughout the world and emphasized the state’s revolutionary growth, pointing to Prayagraj, Kashi, and Ayodhya as representations of India’s expanding potential.
He said that because of the region’s economic progress and respect for religion, the number of devotees visiting Ayodhya has increased dramatically from 2.35 lakh in 2016–17 to around 14–15 crore in 2024.
As visitors arrive at the temples for darshan after taking a sacred plunge in Prayagraj, a huge rush of devotees was seen at the Kashi Vishwanath Temple in Varanasi and Ayodhya.
