A delegation of NCOBC meets Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi
New Delhi: Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, met Thursday with a team from the National Confederation of OBC Employees’ Welfare Associations (NCOBC).

The OBC community’s involvement in the Central Government and Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) was one of the topics covered by the delegation. The group voiced its concerns throughout the meeting, asking for more representation and discussing the difficulties OBC workers in these industries confront.
Rahul Gandhi, the leader of the opposition in the Lok Sabha, called the Telangana Assembly’s passage of two pieces of legislation on Tuesday to increase the quota of other backward classes to 42% “revolutionary” and promised that the Congress Party will guarantee a caste census in India.
“The Congress administration has increased OBC reservations in Telangana, as promised. To guarantee their equitable involvement in politics, work, and education, a measure for a 42% quota was approved by the Assembly, and the real number of OBC groups determined by the state’s scientific caste census was acknowledged. Rahul Gandhi wrote on X, “This is a revolutionary step towards social justice, and the wall of 50% reservation in the state has also been demolished.”
Policies that will guarantee everyone’s well-being will be developed by using the caste survey data to analyze the social and economic circumstances of each group. For this, an impartial expert panel has also been established by the Telangana government. I have always said that underprivileged and underprivileged populations may only get their rightful rights via X-ray, or caste census,” he continued.
According to Rahul Gandhi, Telangana has set an example that the whole nation has to follow.
“Caste census will definitely happen in India; we will get it done,” according to the LoP.
The OBC population in Telangana is 56.36 percent, according to Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, who also said the government has decided to provide a 42 percent quota for this group in employment, education, and jobs.
