A chaat vendor was shot dead in a dispute over setting up a shop in Thakurganj area of Lucknow
A quarrel over the opening of a business led to the shooting death of a chaat vendor in the Thakurganj neighborhood of Lucknow, according to police.
The dead has been named as Rajesh, a 50-year-old chaat vendor, and the police say the event occurred on December 13.
“At around 9:30 pm tonight, Rajesh, a 50-year-old who runs a chaat shop near Iram School in the Thakurganj area, was shot dead by another person from the same locality in a dispute over setting up a shop,” West Lucknow Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Vishwajeet Srivastava told the media. He passed away in the trauma hospital after being taken there by the police. The issue is being looked into, and the appropriate steps are being taken.
According to the police, the accused is 55 years old.
According to the evidence gathered so far, which includes discussions with the deceased’s son and other family members, the argument was over the store. The accused lives in the same neighborhood and is 55 years old, according to DCP Srivastava.
Investigations are still under progress.
