7th Pay Commission: UP government will soon announce 4% DA hike for its employees

7th Pay Commission: Ahead of Diwali, the UP Government is expected to furnish a windfall of remuneration to eight lakh retirees and fifteen lakh workers since it may even go as high as four percent of the dearness allowance (DA). Reportedly, even non-gazetted personnel bonuses are about to be in line with the announcement from the state administration.

As per the reports, this state administration led by chief minister Yogi Adityanath will take the initiative after the federal government could be expected to make the DA announcement towards the end of September or the very first week of October.

Many state government employees will benefit from the DA increase of the UP government. It is estimated that the action would lead to an additional burden of Rs 3,000 crore to the state exchequer.

It is equally possible that such non-gazetted staff are expected to be awarded bonuses but rather late the sabbatical bonuses. It is a procedure based on the basic salary as well as DA. In the past, staff received bonuses amounting to nearly Rs 7,000. This time, the bonus is expected to be a bit higher.

Now when will the Eighth Commission be set on?

It has been observed that several employee unions of the government have made demands regarding the 8th pay commission. However, such a commission has yet to be announced by the government at the present time.

Minister of State for Finance Pankaj Chaudhary in the Rajya Sabha on July 30 achieved two submissions with cheers concerning the sixth The 8th Central Pay Commission proposal due to be established in June 2024. “At this time, such a proposal is not on the table for the administration.”

In February 2014, the 7th Pay Commission was established. The recommendations were effective as of January 1, 2016. Usually, the Central Government constitutes a pay commission once every ten years for salary revision of persons in government service.
