19-year-old Assam girl stabbed to death by 21-year-old man

Bengaluru: According to authorities, a 21-year-old male was charged with murder at the Indira Nagar Police Station in Bengaluru, Karnataka, on Tuesday for allegedly fatally stabbing a 19-year-old Assamese girl.

According to police, the complaint has been filed under sections 103 and 238 of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS), and the accused, Aarav Hanoy, 21, is from Kerala.

The 21-year-old suspect is employed by a private education company in Bengaluru’s HSR Layout as a student councillor, according to the police. The tragedy happened at the Royal Living service apartment in Indira Nagar, and the corpse of Maya Gogoi stayed there for two days, according to Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Bengaluru D Devaraja.

“They were living at the Royal Living in Indira Nagar when the tragedy occurred. We’ve been informed that there’s a foul smell. When our cops and forensic team went there, they discovered a woman’s dead corpse. Following investigation, the Indira Nagar police station received a murder case. Aarav Hanoy, 21, from Kannur, Kerala, and Maya Gogoi, 19, from Guwahati, Assam, were seen checking in at 12:28 PM on November 23rd, according to the CCTV video we saw. At 8:30 a.m. on November 26, the guy exited the room,” DCP Bengaluru D Devaraja informed reporters.

According to the senior official, the dead girl suffered several injuries after being stabbed in the chest. In the Koramangala region, the 19-year-old was also employed as a councilor.

“We also discovered a knife and a nylon cord in the room. After the offender is taken into custody, we will have further information,” the DCP said.
