Kaziranga: The 12th Northeastern International Tourism Mart (ITM) kicked off Tuesday in Kaziranga, Assam, and will run until November 29. Along with other ministers from northeastern states, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, Union Minister of Tourism Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, and Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu are expected to attend the event today.
The Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, hosts the International Tourism Mart every year with the goal of showcasing the North Eastern region’s tourist potential to both local and foreign audiences.
In order to promote cooperation and interactions between buyers, sellers, the media, government organizations, and other stakeholders, this event provides an essential platform for bringing together tourism businesses and entrepreneurs from the eight North Eastern States: Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Tripura, and Sikkim.
An area known for its varied geography, abundant flora and wildlife, lively ethnic groups, old customs, festivals, and a wealth of arts and crafts will host the 12th edition of ITM.
