New Delhi: AIADMK MP M. Thambidurai honored former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh in Delhi on Friday, emphasizing his crucial contribution to the country’s economic reform. “I’ve come here to honor and appreciate Dr. Manmohan Singh, the former prime minister. The AIADMK MP told reporters, “We have always respected and valued his leadership.”

“He implemented economic changes in India while serving as finance minister. He acknowledged Manmohan Singh’s lasting impact by saying, “We are seeing economic development today because of his efforts.” “Not only India, but the entire world appreciated his contributions.” Thambidurai said, “We lost an eminent leader today,” in reference to Dr. Singh’s demise.

In the nation’s capital on Friday, BRS working president KT Rama Rao also paid his last respects to Dr. Manmohan Singh.

On Saturday afternoon, Dr. Manmohan Singh’s last ceremonies will take place at Nigambodh Ghat in New Delhi.

The former prime minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh, died at AllMS Hospital in New Delhi on December 26, 2024, at 9:51 p.m. The government has determined that Dr. Manmohan Singh would get a state funeral. The funeral will be held at Nigambodh Ghat in New Delhi on December 28, 2024, at 11:45 AM. The MHA said, “The Ministry of Defense is asked to arrange for a state funeral with full military honors.”

At the age of 92, Dr. Manmohan Singh passed away at AIIMS, Delhi, on Thursday from age-related illnesses. He was sent to the hospital after experiencing an unexpected loss of consciousness at home.

Over the course of his multi-decade political career, Dr. Singh held a number of noteworthy roles, including Finance Minister from 1991 to 1996, when he led economic reforms that revolutionized the Indian economy. From 2004 until 2014, he was India’s thirteenth prime minister, replacing Atal Bihari Vajpayee. His achievements in modernizing India’s economy and his steadfast leadership despite economic downturns are what people remember most about his term.

Having guided India through a time of unparalleled expansion and global acclaim, Dr. Singh withdrew from public life after his second term. Following the Congress-led UPA’s defeat in the 2014 general elections, Narendra Modi took over as leader.
