Sachin Pilot: When Manmohan Singh was in the Prime Minister’s Office, he faced all challenges with a smile

Congressman Sachin Pilot commended former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Friday, stating that he cheerfully handled every obstacle while serving as PM. He said that both the party and the nation as a whole suffered a loss in his departure.

The pilot said that throughout his life, Manmohan Singh prioritized the country. He went on to say that the feelings individuals have are indicative of the passing of a significant figure who made his imprint on the nation.

“Manmohan Singh encountered opposition members and supporters throughout his tenure as prime minister. Nevertheless, he smiled as he met every obstacle that came his way. He was an uncomplicated and serene individual. Throughout his life, he prioritized the country. For us, the party, and the nation, this is a defeat. History will see him differently, he said. Pilot told the reporters, “Not a day has passed since his death, and the feelings of people tell us that we have lost a huge personality who has left his mark on the country.”

The former PM has been receiving a ton of tributes, including People from all walks of life, including politicians, have been expressing their sadness at his passing. Over the bier bearing former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s mortal remains, the national flag was flown. Sources claim that the former prime minister’s last ceremonies would be performed with full state honors.

Singh, who was famous for implementing the 1991 economic liberalization changes while serving as India’s Finance Minister, will be cremated close to Rajghat, where prime ministers’ last rites are conducted.

At the age of 92, Manmohan Singh died away on Thursday night at AIIMS, Delhi, from age-related illnesses. He was sent to the AIIMS Delhi after experiencing an unexpected loss of consciousness at home.

September 26, 1932, was Manmohan Singh’s birthday. In addition to being an economist, Manmohan Singh was the governor of the Reserve Bank of India from 1982 to 1985. After Jawaharlal Nehru and Indira Gandhi, he was the longest-standing prime minister of India, lasting from 2004 until 2014.

Singh, who served as India’s finance minister in the administration of PV Narasimha Rao, is credited with bringing about the nation’s economic liberalization in 1991. The reforms enhanced foreign direct investment (FDI) and decreased government control by opening up the Indian economy to global businesses. It made a significant contribution to the economic expansion of the nation.

The National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (NREGA), thereafter referred to as MGNREGA, was also established during Manmohan Singh’s administration.

Under the Manmohan Singh administration, the Right to Information Act (RTI) was established in 2005, improving information openness between the people and the government.
After 33 years of service, he announced his retirement from the Rajya Sabha earlier this year.
