Abu Dhabi Mobility, Abu Dhabi Maritime launch digital ‘MARSDNA’ that will achieve environmental, social and governance (ESG) goals
The Department of Municipalities and Transport’s Integrated Transport Centre (Abu Dhabi Mobility) and Abu Dhabi Maritime, which is a division of AD Ports Group, have introduced MARSDNA, a cutting-edge tool created by Maqta Technologies Group to assist stakeholders in the maritime sector in their efforts to meet Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) objectives.
In addition to offering near-instant, customized advice to bolster their efforts, this innovative digital mechanism with an easy-to-use user interface enables marine firms and organizations to assess their position on national and international ESG indicators.
MARSDNA encourages people to fill out a free survey that may be found on the Abu Dhabi Maritime website. It grades users’ ESG progress based on their replies and creates a thorough report that can be downloaded, linking users to other resources and laying out their route to success.
MARSDNA, which stands for “Maritime Sustainability DNA” and is derived from the Arabic word for observatory, is a significant accomplishment for Abu Dhabi Mobility and Abu Dhabi Maritime that significantly enhances their efforts to encourage sustainable practices.
MARSDNA streamlines ESG tracking and makes it available to businesses of all sizes, including small and medium-sized ones, by combining data from multiple ESG standards, such as metrics from the International Maritime Organization and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, into an entertaining and cost-free tool.
Shipping firms, port and terminal operators, freight forwarders and cargo beneficiaries, marine and offshore services, and marina owners are the five main maritime industry value chain areas that MARSDNA is concentrating on in its first development phase. Later stages will broaden the tool’s use, ultimately covering the whole marine industry.
Abu Dhabi Mobility confirmed that its continued dedication to accomplishing sustainability objectives and assisting with environmental, social, and governance projects in the marine industry is reflected in the introduction of MARSDNA, which was carried out in partnership with Abu Dhabi marine.
MARSDNA is a cutting-edge instrument that will significantly advance ESG measures in the industry, according to Captain Saif Al Mheiri, CEO of Abu Dhabi Maritime and Chief Sustainability Officer of AD Ports Group.
“MARSDNA is a prime example of AD Ports Group’s commitment to promoting sustainable development via top-notch digital solutions,” said Noura Al Dhaheri, CEO of Maqta Technologies Group and Digital Cluster. Digitalization is a powerful tool for advancing society and assisting users in conceiving and accomplishing environmental goals. Abu Dhabi will be able to realize its potential as a world leader in marine sustainability with the aid of MARSDNA.
