Congress said this about Amit Shah on Ambedkar controversy

The best way to resolve the Ambedkar problem, according to Congress leader Jairam Ramesh, is for Union Home Minister Amit Shah to resign and issue an apology to the nation for his comments against Babasaheb Amedkar in the Rajya Sabha.

Speaking at a press conference on Tuesday, Jairam Ramesh said that the Congress has been commemorating ‘Ambedkar Samman’ Week for the last seven days, with more than 100 news conferences taking place at different venues.

“This is in reaction to the Home Minister’s December 17 insult to Ambedkar. All districts are holding meetings today, and a paper is being produced to be presented to the president. The best way to resolve this issue is for the Home Minister to resign and provide an apology,” the Congress leader said.

In the meanwhile, the Congress party is planning rallies throughout the country today in response to Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s comments against BR Ambedkar in Parliament.

“If they (opposition) had taken the name of God so many times instead of Ambedkar, they would have got heaven for seven lives,” Shah allegedly said in the Rajya Sabha.

Following Shah’s comments, the Treasury and opposition benches staged simultaneous rallies outside the house last week. This resulted in a heated altercation between the two parties, in which two BJP MPs, Pratap Sarangi and Mukesh Rajput, were hurt.

On the grounds of the Parliament, the ruling BJP MPs were demonstrating against the Congress party for allegedly “insulting” Babasaheb Ambedkar.

India Rahul Gandhi-led Bloc MPs demonstrated outside Parliament and called for Shah’s resignation due to his comments on Ambedkar.

Two BJP MPs, Pratap Sarangi and Mukesh Rajput, suffered head injuries during the altercation on the Parliament grounds.

Allegations of pushing party members have been made by both parties. In addition, Delhi police have filed a formal complaint (FIR) against Rahul Gandhi for the event.
