SP MP Awadhesh Prasad made this allegation on the central government regarding farmers
Awadhesh Prasad, an MP for the Samajwadi Party (SP), said on Tuesday that the federal government is obstructing farmers’ marches towards Delhi in order to conceal its inadequacies and faults.
The farmers have congregated on the Delhi border, Samajwadi Party MP Prasad told media. They are not permitted to go to Delhi, but they will inform the Prime Minister of their demands. All of this has been done by the BJP to conceal its flaws and inadequacies. The administration is ignoring the need to address the nation’s and the state’s current inflation problems and provide young people jobs.
Sunil Jakhar, the president of the Punjab BJP, called on the leaders of the protracted hunger strike to call off their action on Monday, pointing to the health hazards involved and the diminishing media coverage of their cause.
Speaking at a news conference, Jakhar emphasized the need of cooperation amongst farmer organizations and urged fruitful discussion to resolve Punjab’s persistently serious agricultural problems.
Jakhar voiced concerns about the health of several farmer leaders who are now on a hunger strike.
“27 days have passed. At first, no one asked about them, but within the last ten days, leaders have begun to question about their well-being. No one has ordered them to break their fast or pledged to support their cause in spite of their visits. Since this hunger strike is seriously harming their health, I implore them to cherish their lives,” he stated.
“Leaders are waiting for something bad to happen so they can politicize it,” Jhakhar said. Some are even prepping their speeches.
Since February 13, 2024, farmers have been demonstrating in favor of their demands, which include a bill that would ensure the minimum support price (MSP).
