Chad Michael Murray reflects on teaming up with his Freaky Friday costar Lindsay Lohan for the hit film’s highly-anticipated sequel
Actor and writer Chad Michael Murray thought about working with Lindsay Lohan again on the much awaited Freaky Friday sequel.
“It was fantastic. According to People, Murray said of the endeavor, “It was just a nostalgic kick.”
“You know, it was like a reunion from high school. Speaking at Christmas Con 2024 in Edison, New Jersey, he said, “Even though it seemed like no time had passed, we had entire lives in between.”
According to Murray, “23 years have passed since we were on set doing the first one.” He stated that it might sometimes be difficult to follow the narrative, which involves family members switching bodies.
“At times, I would sit there thinking, ‘Okay, who’s who?’… I had a lot of concentration. He said, “Even though I had to do a lot of homework, I would still get it wrong.” However, it was fantastic. So much fun.
Murray will return to his role as Jake in the follow-up, Freakier Friday, while Lohan, 38, will play Anna Coleman. According to the publication, Jamie Lee Curtis will reprise her role as Tess Coleman, her mother.
Mark Harmon, Christina Vidal Mitchell, Haley Hudson, Lucille Soong, Stephen Tobolowsky, and Rosalind Chao are among the other cast members who are returning. According to People, Julia Butters, Sophia Hammons, Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, and Manny Jacinto will be appearing in the sequel.
On August 8, 2025, Freakier Friday will be released in theaters.
