Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami inaugurated 74 schemes worth Rs 188.07 crore at Kanak Chowk in Dehradun

On Sunday, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami laid the groundwork and officially opened 74 programs totaling Rs 188.07 crore at Kanak Chowk in Dehradun.

The initiatives consist of 38 foundation stone projects valued at Rs 76.85 crore and 36 completed projects totaling Rs 111.22 crore.

The Chief Minister lay the groundwork for two automated parking facilities and one surface parking lot, which would cost around Rs 11 crore in total, as well as launched electric car charging stations at four places throughout Dehradun as part of these efforts.

The Chief Minister also opened the letter management desk at the Dehradun District Magistrate’s office and flagged off three rescue and rehabilitation vehicles as part of initiatives to stop child begging.

According to the Chief Minister, the programs include a number of areas, including as roads, drinking water, irrigation, urban development, flood prevention, health, and education. Residents of Dehradun and the surrounding regions should find these efforts to be quite convenient.

Constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 11 crore, the two automated parking facilities and one surface parking lot are intended to reduce traffic in congested Dehradun neighborhoods and save time and money. Children who are engaged in begging in the city will benefit greatly from the three rescue and rehabilitation trucks that were introduced as part of the child beggary prevention program.

The District Magistrate’s office has opened a letter management desk that would improve and expedite the monitoring and administration of official communications.

The Chief Minister said that the state administration is dedicated to Uttarakhand’s overall development under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Smart water management efforts and smart toilets have been implemented as part of the Dehradun Smart City Project.

A state-of-the-art library with 650 reading spaces has also been constructed at Lansdowne Chowk, and smart schools have been developed. Thirty electric buses are in service across the city to encourage environmental conservation. The Mental Health Institute in Selaqui has been refurbished, while a 300-bed cancer hospital is being built in Harrawala.

Additionally, Dehradun is being developed as a model city. The Ministry of Environment, Government of India, has placed the city in the top five nationwide under the National Clean Air Program.

The state’s determination to lower Dehradun’s air pollution was emphasized by the chief minister. With plans to install charging stations at seven other places, four EV charging stations have already been opened. In addition to offering electric car drivers convenient charging alternatives, these facilities will help preserve the environment.
