Akhilesh Yadav made this allegation on BJP regarding farmers’ issues

Akhilesh Yadav, the leader of the Samajwadi Party (SP), attacked the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) harshly on Sunday, claiming that the governing party is exploiting Sambhal as a means of deflecting attention away from the problems facing farmers.

An Archaeological Survey of India excavation team discovered a stepwell in the Sambhal district’s Chandausi region earlier today.

“Yeh pehle bhi galat tha, khudaiye se rasta nahi niklega. Digging won’t solve the problem; this was incorrect in the past as well. “The BJP is purposefully doing this to avoid talking about farmers’ issues, even though we already have the Places of Worship Act that prohibits such excavations,” the SP head told reporters in Firozabad.

The finding of a 400 square meter “baoli” (stepwell) was verified by District Magistrate Rajendra Pensiya on Sunday. The building, which has around four rooms, has marble flooring.

Speaking about more general problems, Yadav said that farmers could not get fertilizers or Di-ammonium Phosphate (DAP) for their crops when they needed them. He also drew attention to the growing costs of necessities like energy and medications.

“I want to question them: you previously discussed farmers, yet they continue to face a great deal of stress and difficulties. There was no DAP available when they needed it. Yadav said, “Khad jab chahiye thi toh nahi thi” (fertilizer was unavailable when required).

In response to the rising prices of seeds, medications, and power, he emphasized that farmers are not guaranteed to make a profit even once a crop is successfully harvested.

“The cost of medications and seeds has increased. The cost of electricity is constantly increasing. The administration has yet to address the irrigation problems. He went on to say, “A farmer may be able to grow and harvest a crop, but they may not know where to sell it for a reasonable price.”

Today was the 314th day of the farmers’ protest at the Khanauri border between Punjab and Haryana. Since February 13, 2024, the farmers have been demonstrating in favor of policies including a bill that would ensure the Minimum Support Price (MSP).

Sarwan Singh Pandher, a farm leader, had previously urged citizens of both states to support the protest by converging in huge numbers near the borders of Khanauri and Shambhu.

As agricultural activist Jagjit Singh Dallewal just passed out at the Khanauri border protest site after fasting for more than 20 days to advocate for farmers’ rights, tensions have increased.
