PM Modi was today awarded Kuwait’s highest civilian honour ‘Order of Mubarak Al Kabir’
The Amir of Kuwait, Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al Sabah, presented Prime Minister Narendra Modi with the Order of Mubarak Al Kabeer, Kuwait’s highest civilian honor, on Sunday.
The ‘Order of Mubarak Al Kabeer’ is given to foreign sovereigns, heads of state, and members of royal families from other countries.
Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al Sabah and PM Modi also had bilateral discussions in Kuwait.
According to Randhir Jaiswal, a spokesman for the Ministry of External Affairs, PM Modi and the Amir of Kuwait met and discussed measures to advance bilateral relations between the two countries.
“A major step forward: India-Kuwait relations elevated to a ‘Strategic Partnership’!” Jaiswal said in a post on X. At Kuwait’s Bayan Palace, Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with Amir of Kuwait HH Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.
“The main topic of discussion was how to advance bilateral relations between India and Kuwait. The tweet further said that the PM thanked HH the Amir for the well-being of the Indian community in Kuwait.
Earlier, on his state visit to Kuwait, PM Modi was greeted with a Guard of Honor and a thunderous ceremonial greeting. At Kuwait’s Bayan Palace, PM Modi received a ceremonial guard of honor. The event was also attended by the Amir of Kuwait.
The Ministry of External Affairs Spokesperson on X also provided information on the meeting.

The Amir of the State of Kuwait, Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, has invited PM Modi to visit the Gulf country of Kuwait for two days. This is the first Indian prime minister to visit Kuwait in forty-three years.
Along with Kuwait’s Foreign Minister Abdullah Ali Al-Yahya and a number of other dignitaries, Sheikh Fahad Yousef Saud Al-Sabah, the country’s first Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense and Interior, welcomed PM Modi upon his arrival.
