‘Dune’ actor recalls shooting for ‘Little Women’, says this
There are two films that Timothee Chalamet and Saoirse Ronan are vying for at the 2025 Academy Awards. The two, who are now vying for Academy Awards, costarred in the movies Lady Bird (2017) and Little Women (2019).
Variety reports that the ‘Dune’ actor remembered the ‘Little Women’ filming and offered a crucial timekeeping lesson he learned from Ronan at a Wednesday night event organized by the British Film Institute and Vanity Fair.
Timothee said that she remembered Emery Cohen, who had collaborated with her on the 2016 blockbuster “Brooklyn,” telling her about Ronan before they met for the ‘Lady Bird’ filming, which was written and directed by Greta Gerwig.
“I kept hearing this name ‘Saoirse, Saoirse’ and didn’t put two and two together when I saw the name spelt out, because I’m an ignorant American, but then we got to work and I was just blown away immediately,” said Timothee.
In addition, Ronan said, “We were very lucky that we clicked straight away and we had Greta, who from day one seemed to be so excited about what was happening between the two of us.”
Following the release, the pair received Academy Award nominations. Ronan received a nomination for her performance in “Lady Bird,” while Timothee received one for the movie “Call Me By Your Name.”
“Everyone was sort at a genesis, especially on ‘Lady Bird,” said Chalamet. “It was a small production and I feel like we had no clue how well received it was going to be.”
After that, the pair came back to share the screen for “Little Women.” Timothee acknowledged during the filming that her co-star Ronan had previously given him a harsh reprimand for delaying the production by arriving late to the set.
“I was on the phone trying to do this thing, and I get this bang on my trailer door, like really intensely so I was thinking someone had died, and I opened the door and there was Saoirse in a bald cap and she was like, get to the trailer right now,” said Timothee Chalamet.
Regarding his career, Timothee Chalamet’s next project is James Mangold’s film “The Complete Unknown.”
The film takes place in the summer of 1961, when Bob Dylan, then 19 years old, traveled from Minnesota to New York City with only his guitar and aspirations of becoming a famous musician.
The 2015 novel ‘Dylan Goes Electric!’ by Elijah Wald served as the inspiration for the movie. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Newport, Seeger, Dylan, and the Night That Split the Sixties explores the crucial period in Dylan’s career when he switched from folk to rock music, energizing his style and igniting controversy during the 1965 Newport Folk Festival.
On December 25, the film is scheduled to be released in theaters.
