Abu Dhabi (DoH) announces expansion of Sanadcom initiative
The Sanadkom program, which aims to streamline and facilitate processes for relatives of the dead, has been expanded to encompass all Abu Dhabi citizens, according to the Department of Health-Abu Dhabi (DoH).
The program offers aid and support in carrying out death-related tasks, including getting a death certificate, setting up the funeral, and getting the dead ready for travel, if needed.
For the family of the dead, the Sanadkom program seeks to streamline and alleviate processes, particularly during trying times.
After a death notification is issued, the Sanadkom team quickly contacts the family of the deceased to express their condolences, assist with any required death-related transactions, and send a text message detailing the services provided by the initiative.
The Authority of Social Contribution-Ma’an will pay all costs associated with issuing the death certificate, ambulance transportation, embalming, and repatriating the body in order to support the grieving families during this trying time.
Under the guidance of our astute leadership, the Department is dedicated to improving and guaranteeing the provision of outstanding and distinctive services to every member of the community, said Hind Al Zaabi, Executive Director of the Customer Experience and Relation Sector at DoH. Understanding the psychological toll that losing a loved one takes, the Sanadkom program offers sympathetic assistance, helping grieving families with the necessary processes.
All death-related processes will be handled directly by the deceased’s family at medical facilities in the Emirate where the death took place, according to the initiative. After the deceased’s family gives their agreement, the attending physician will assist with the relevant steps, such as filling out the death report and securing any permits that may be needed.
Abu Dhabi Public Health Center, Abu Dhabi Judicial Department, Abu Dhabi Pension Fund, Abu Dhabi Health Services Company-SEHA, Abu Dhabi Distribution Company, Al Ain Distribution Company, and the Department of Government Enablement are among the seven governmental entities in the Emirate whose services are being unified under the initiative.
The Department of Government Enablement-Abu Dhabi’s Executive Director of the Customer Experience Sector, Saeed Al Mulla, stated: “Since its launch in January 2024, the Sanadkom initiative has successfully assisted families of deceased citizens in completing all the necessary procedures and transactions.”
