Peshawar High Court extended the bail of Bushra Bibi, wife of former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan, till January 16
Bushra Bibi, the wife of former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan, has had her protective bail extended by the Peshawar High Court until January 16. According to The Express Tribune, the court has also granted Imran Khan’s wife an exemption from appearing in court.
The case was heard by the Peshawar High Court’s two-member bench, which was made up of Justices Sahibzada Asadullah and Waqar Ahmad. At the court hearing were NAB Special Deputy Prosecutor General Mohammad Ali, Additional Attorney General Sanaullah, Bushra Bibi’s attorney Alam Khan Adeenzai, and Additional Advocate General Inamullah.
According to The Express Tribune, Adeenzai said at the hearing that Bushra Bibi was unable to attend since she had a hearing for the Toshakhana case in Islamabad. According to the attorney, they had submitted a request for a court appearance exemption.
The AAG said that two matters were being reviewed today during the court session. In the first instance, the court was open to discussing the report’s admissibility after they had filed it. The court already declared that the admissibility of the matter should be the primary topic of debate.
The bureau has provided a report about three cases against the petitioner, according to Special Deputy Prosecutor General NAB Muhammad Ali. Bushra Bibi’s plea to be excused from court appearances was granted by the court, which also postponed the hearing and granted her protective bail until January 16.
According to the Express Tribune, the Islamabad District and Sessions Court last week extended the temporary bail of Imran Khan, the founder of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), and his spouse Bushra Bibi in the Toshakhana case 2.0 case until January 7.
Imran Khan and his wife’s temporary bail in the case was extended till January 7 by the District and Sessions Court of Islamabad, which also postponed the hearing. Bail applications were heard by Additional Sessions Judge Muhammad Afzal Mujoka.
Junior attorneys represented the accused during the court hearing. According to the younger attorney, the senior attorney was unable to attend the court hearing because they were preoccupied with another case in Central Jail Adiala.
