UP: Five people died in a collision between a truck and an auto-rickshaw in Madanpur area
Shahjahanpur: A truck and an autorickshaw collided in the Madanpur region of Shahjahanpur district, killing five people, according to Uttar Pradesh police. Officials said three individuals passed away immediately, and two more died from their wounds while receiving medical care. Out of the 10 people on board, five more suffered injuries.
The police also stated in their statement that the truck driver has been taken into custody and that an inquiry is being conducted to find out what caused the collision.
“A tragic incident occurred in Shahjahanpur district involving a collision between a truck and an auto-rickshaw,” said Superintendent of Police (SP) Shahjahanpur after the tragedy. Five individuals have died so far, including three who died instantly and two more who passed away from their wounds while receiving medical care. Out of the 10 individuals on board, five more have also been injured.
The SP and the District Magistrate visited the hospital and spoke with the wounded. “The treatment of two youngsters who had fractures is going nicely. The attending physicians will choose whether to send serious patients to higher medical centers if required,” the SP said.
The spokesman said that officials are keeping an eye on the health of the wounded people receiving treatment.
In another instance, police authorities said that a traffic accident in Kasganj, Uttar Pradesh, on Wednesday wounded at least 26 persons.
A pick-up truck transporting people from a marriage ceremony crashed with a tractor. According to the police, all of the wounded were being treated at the hospital.
