The Ministry of External Affairs said on Wednesday that this would be the first time an Indian prime minister has visited Kuwait in forty-three years.

Discussions between the Prime Minister and Kuwait’s leadership will take place during the visit. Additionally, the prime minister will engage with Kuwait’s Indian population.

Relationships between India and Kuwait have always been tight and cordial, supported by strong people-to-people ties and commercial ties. India is one of Kuwait’s main commercial partners. The biggest expat population in Kuwait is Indian, MEA said.

The trip will provide a chance to deepen the complex relationship between Kuwait and India.
