Tejashwi Yadav targeted Amit Shah over his comment on Ambedkar
Tejashwi Yadav, a former Bihar Deputy Chief Minister and leader of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), attacked Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Wednesday for his comments on Babasaheb Ambedkar, claiming that he was their “fashion and passion.”
Accusing Shah and his party of being “anti-constitution” and inciting enmity, Yadav denounced the words Shah used in Parliament.
“Our passion and fashion are Babasaheb Ambedkar. He also serves as our inspiration and source of encouragement. Nobody will be allowed to disparage Babasaheb Ambedkar. Yadav, the Leader of the Opposition (LoP) in the Bihar Legislative Assembly, informed the media, “These individuals are anti-constitution and incite hatred, and the language used in Parliament is abhorrent.”
The RJD leader also attacked Shah’s comments, saying that the wording demonstrated the BJP’s limited perspective. According to Yadav, the only thing the RSS and BJP could do was to disparage great leaders like Gandhi, Nehru, and Ambedkar since they lacked their own Mahapurush (great leaders).
“Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s remarks against Babasaheb Ambedkar are vehemently condemned. This demonstrates their limited perspective. Examine his language and body language. You can tell how much they revere Babasaheb Ambedkar in only 17 seconds. Neither the BJP nor the RSS have their own Mahapurush. They have made no contributions to the cause of freedom. Yadav said that the BJP’s only remaining option was to mistreat notable figures like Gandhi, Ambedkar, Kapoori Thakur, and Nehru.
This occurred after Amit Shah attacked the Congress party for making it a “fashion” to use Ambedkar’s name in his speech to the Rajya Sabha on Tuesday, marking the end of a two-day debate on the 75th anniversary of the Constitution.
Additionally, the opposition demonstrated on the grounds of Parliament while brandishing pictures of the former justice and law minister.
Mayawati, the leader of the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), also attacked the Congress and BJP over the Ambedkar scandal.
Both parties should treat Babasaheb with the respect and devotion he deserves, she urged, rather than utilizing his name for political ends.
In a series of postings on X, Mayawati stated: “Both the Congress and the BJP, as well as its affiliates, should treat Dr. BR Ambedkar with the respect and dignity he deserves, rather than appropriating his name for partisan ends. These parties shouldn’t meddle with other people’s beliefs since they have nothing against their own gods.
However, BR Ambedkar is the only deity for Dalits and other oppressed groups, and it is because to him that the Constitution grants these groups legal rights. “The heaven of seven lifetimes was bestowed upon them on the day they were granted these rights,” she said.
Additionally, Mayawati said that the Congress, BJP, and other such parties’ love for Dalits and other underprivileged groups was a lie.
