A member of the rescue team stated, “Today, a distress call was received from Jogani Waterfall, in which it was found that there was a 25-year-old citizen of Sri Lanka who fell from a cliff and was rescued by the team of the Adventure Tour Operators Association, and we have just admitted him to the hospital in Manali.”

After receiving a distress call at 3 p.m., the rescue team acted quickly, and the first responder was at the scene in less than 40 minutes. The crew stabilized the wounded individual and gently put him on a rescue stretcher after receiving training in advanced wilderness first aid and using specialist cliff rescue equipment.

After that, the rescue crew hauled the stretcher down the mountain and up a 90-degree precipice until they arrived at the road in Bahang. The wounded individual was taken to the Civil Hospital in Manali, where he is still undergoing medical care, by an ambulance that the ATOA team had placed on standby.

The ATOA Mountain Search and Rescue Team has received a lot of appreciation for their competent and timely handling of the incident, which demonstrates their commitment to saving lives in the Himalayas.
