Amit Shah expressed his condolences on the demise of tabla player Ustad Zakir Hussain, said this in praise
On Monday, Union Minister Amit Shah expressed his sorrow on the passing of Ustad Zakir Hussain, the tabla master.
Shah said in his post on social network X (previously Twitter) that Hussain created works of art that cut over linguistic and cultural boundaries.
“Today, a beat became mute. Saddened by the passing of Ustad Zakir Hussain Ji, the master of the tabla. Hussain Ji was a gifted musician who created works of art that evoked the feelings that rhythms evoked, bridging linguistic and cultural divides. The message said, “His music will continue to serve as a thread that binds people together.”
Prior to this, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also conveyed his profound sadness over Hussain’s death.
In a message on social media, Modi called Hussain a genius who transformed Indian classical music and made the tabla famous around the world.
We are very grieved by the loss of Ustad Zakir Hussain Ji, the renowned tabla master. He will go down in history as a genuine genius who transformed Indian classical music. In addition, he introduced the tabla to the world, enthralling millions with his unmatched rhythm. He became a symbol of cultural unification by skillfully fusing Indian classical traditions with international music, the statement said.
The prime minister further emphasized how generations of artists and music fans will be inspired by Hussain’s legendary performances and heartfelt compositions.
“Generations of artists and music fans will be inspired by his legendary performances and moving compositions. The message went on to say, “My deepest sympathies to his family, friends, and the international music community.”
Rajnath Singh, the minister of defense, had also sent his sympathies for Hussain’s passing.
Rajnath Singh praised Hussain on X, writing that he had made a lasting impression on the classical music community.
“The passing of Ustad Zakir Hussain, who had a lasting impression on the classical music community, saddens me much. With the swara and dhamaka of his craft, Zakir Hussain, who made playing the tabla his life, helped Indian music gain international recognition,” Singh stated.
The Defense Minister went on to say in his tweet that the death of Hussian was irreversible for the music and art worlds.
“The music and art worlds have suffered an irreversible loss with his passing. “My sympathies are with his family and fans during this difficult time,” the message said.
At the age of 73, Ustad Zakir Hussain died on December 15 in San Francisco, USA.
It was determined that idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, a persistent lung condition, was the cause of death. Prospect PR’s Jon Bleicher verified the news on behalf of the family.
