An earthquake measuring 6.2 on the Richter scale struck the Chile-Argentina border region this morning
The National Center for Seismology (NCS) reports that an earthquake with a Ritcher scale magnitude of 6.2 occurred on Saturday morning near the Chile-Argentina border area.
In a post on X, the NCS said that the earthquake’s epicenter was 110 kilometers deep and was 203 kilometers south of Santiago, Chile. At 5:08 a.m. (IST), the area was rocked by an earthquake.
“EQ of M: 6.2, On: 14/12/2024 05:08:17 IST, Lat: 35.28 S, Long: 70.65 W, Depth: 110 Km, Location: Chile-Argentina Border Region,” the NCS said on X.

There were no early reports of significant damage or deaths.
