A day after receiving bomb threats, more than 30 schools in Delhi receive another threat
New Delhi: According to Delhi Police, a number of schools in Delhi got identical threat emails on Saturday, one day after more than 30 schools in the nation’s capital received bomb threats. “Today again, Delhi schools, including DPS RK Puram, Ryan International School, and Vasant Kunj, received a bomb threat email,” Delhi Police said.
The police claim that at 6:12 a.m. today, a group mail was delivered to the schools.
“A group mail received by the school at 6:12 am this morning, by the name of Barry Allah, from [email protected],” police said.
The Delhi Police were notified by schools after receiving a bomb threat email. Delhi Police, a bomb detection squad, and fire authorities arrived at the scene after getting the tip; however, officials said that nothing abnormal had been discovered as of yet.
The schools received a bomb threat email that said, “Allah notices your attempts to evade his wrath. However, they are pointless. Because no mortal can avoid Allah’s judgment. According to the Prophet Mohammed, everyone who opposes Allah is an enemy of the world. We notice that you’re trying to stop us. It won’t function. The youngsters are permitted to burn in Allah’s holy flame by the Prophet Mohammed.
“Your structures will be demolished on Saturdays when there may not be any students present. The Prophet Muhammad has blessed our bomb vests. They will not fall short of their objective. Our kids are courageous Allah’s slaves. “They will finish their assignment,” the message said.
Up to 30 schools in Delhi received phony bomb threat emails, according to South East Delhi Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Ravi Kumar Singh on Friday.
According to the DCP, the inquiry into the fictitious threats showed that the emails addressed to the schools were created outside of the nation.
After learning of the situation, schools were evacuated, and the bomb disposal squad conducted site inspections.
Parents and employees were alarmed by the threatening emails, but the police reassured them that safety is their first priority and that investigations are still underway. To date, none of the schools have been discovered to contain bombs or dangerous materials.
The need for strong security measures is highlighted by the fact that this is not the first time that such threats have interrupted classes in the nation’s capital.
The following schools were threatened on Friday: Delhi Public School in Defence Colony, Cambridge School in Srinivaspuri, Bhatnagar Public School in Paschim Vihar, and Delhi Public School in East of Kailash. Earlier, bomb threats seeking a USD 30,000 ransom were sent to more than 40 schools in the nation’s capital via email. Around 11:38 p.m. on December 8, this email arrived.
AAP leader and former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal expressed grave worries on Friday over the frequent bomb threats directed at the nation’s capital’s schools. Kejriwal raised concerns about the possible psychological and academic effects on kids, stating that if these instances go unchecked, they may interfere with their education and general well-being.
In order to handle bomb threats and associated situations, the Delhi High Court earlier on November 19 ordered the Delhi Government and Delhi Police to create a thorough response plan that includes a complete Standard Operating Procedure (SOP). The court gave the fulfillment of these orders an eight-week deadline.
