Farmer leader Sarwan Singh Pandher said, our group will leave for Delhi in the afternoon

New Delhi: As part of their continuing protest, a group of farmers would go “peacefully” towards Delhi, according to farmer leader Sarwan Singh Pandher. Pandher, a farmer leader, told the media that if the administration is serious about finding a solution, it has to set up a meeting.

“Our third group, headed by Jaswinder Singh Longowal and Malkit Singh, will proceed from here peacefully, sharp at 12,” Pandher said.

Parth Gupta, the Deputy Commissioner for Ambala, had previously explained that the farmers were not authorized to demonstrate in Delhi.

“…they are not authorized to demonstrate in Delhi… Farmers, you may proceed if you have the necessary authorization; otherwise, we will have to stop you. Deputy Commissioner Gupta said, “We urge the farmers to keep the peace.”

Rakesh Tikait, a leader of the Bharatiya Kisan Union, had earlier said, “The administration has failed. It ought to have discussions. The hunger strike needs to stop.

Notably, farmers are demanding that the state and union governments meet the MSP for crops as part of a charter of 12 demands.

Nayab Singh Saini, the chief minister of Haryana, has confronted the opposition parties and the Congress over the minimum support price (MSP) for crops. In response to the Congress’s assertion that it supports farmers and its pledge to provide them with MSP, Saini said that the Congress administrations in Telangana and Himachal had not purchased crops at MSP.

“We have purchased crops on MSP throughout the last ten years. The Congress governments in Telangana, Karnataka, and Himachal Pradesh are unable to guarantee that they would purchase crops at 100% MSP. People are aware of their reality. AAP will also begin discussing the EVMs in a month. They’ve been sent away,” Saini claimed.
