Speaking at a ceremony marking the 75th anniversary of the Indian Constitution’s promulgation, Priyanka Gandhi honored the 2001 warriors who died defending Parliament.
“The flame of our Constitution is blazing in the fight of crores of Indians, in their fortitude in the face of the most difficult circumstances, and in their desire of justice from the nation. The term “suraksha kavach” (safety armor) refers to our Constitution. The residents are kept secure by such a “suraksha kavach”; it is a “kavach” of justice, solidarity, and freedom of expression. It is regrettable that in a decade, ruling-party colleagues who make lofty statements have done all in their power to dismantle this “kavach.”
Social, economic, and political justice are guaranteed by the Constitution. Work has started to violate these pledges, which serve as a safety armor. “This government is attempting to undermine reservation through lateral entry and privatization,” Priyanka Gandhi said.
The discussion commemorates the adoption of the Constitution 75 years ago.
