BJP leader Giriraj Pai Vernekar reacts to ED probe into alleged cash-for-job scam in Goa
Panaji: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Giriraj Pai Vernekar responded on Wednesday to the Directorate of Enforcement’s (ED) investigation into the alleged cash-for-jobs scam in Goa by claiming that AAP MP Sanjay Singh and AAP Goa President Amit Palekar are currently free on bail and therefore lack the moral authority and evidence to make such accusations. He went on to say that the Goa BJP supports the ED’s inquiry into the matter and that Singh’s accusations are “laughable.”.
“CM Pramod Sawant’s actions exposed the job hoax. When he discovered that job seekers had paid a scammer, he filed a formal complaint and encouraged Goans to come forward. He and the BJP wouldn’t have taken this case up if they had something to conceal. 28 persons have already been arrested, and 32 FIRs have been filed against them. Sanjay Singh’s accusations are absurd. Both the Goa AAP President and Sanjay Singh are currently free on bail. They lack both the moral authority and the evidence to make such accusations.”The ED investigation is welcomed by the Goa BJP,” Giriraj Pai Vernekar stated.
AAP MP Sanjay Singh and AAP Goa President Amit Palekar had previously accused the BJP of widespread corruption in hiring.
According to an AAP press statement, they said that the wife of Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant had been implicated in the affair, with former Governor Satyapal Malik claiming that she took money in exchange for jobs.
The whistleblower who reportedly disclosed this swindle died, according to AAP leaders. Amit Palekar asked why, in the absence of a BJP leader, the administration is afraid to launch a judicial investigation. The party has called for openness and responsibility in the situation. According to the release, Sanjay Singh drew attention to the persistent unemployment problem in Goa, where the two MLAs of the Aam Aadmi Party and the party are resolutely functioning as a strong opposition and bringing up important public problems.
