Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant targeted AAP MP Sanjay Singh
Panaji: Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant threatened to bring a defamation lawsuit against the Aam Aadmi Party for making untrue accusations against him and his spouse.
Without mentioning AAP Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh, who had made accusations against “Chief Minister Pramod Sawant’s wife, his ministers, and their close associates,” Sawant told ANI on Wednesday, “The person who is on bail and has put allegations against me and my wife—I will file a defamation suit against him, and he will have to answer in court.”
The AAP MP, according to Sawant, has a “habit of making false allegations.”
“Due to an excise scam, the Aam Aadmi Party MP spent two years in prison. He is currently free on bail. “He frequently makes unfounded accusations against people,” Sawant stated.
In the national capital earlier on December 5, Singh and AAP Goa President Amit Palekar accused the BJP of widespread corruption in hiring.
“Young people in Goa are having trouble finding employment…. The BJP government in Goa has used employment as a means of corruption for the last ten years. Bribery has been used to sell jobs, and this practice extends to the highest levels, affecting not only regular people but also the spouse of Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, his ministers, and their close acquaintances.
Sawant added that several cops have already been imprisoned in connection with a cash-for-jobs fraud, and he has instructed other officials to take action against any officers who are connected to the scheme in any manner.
“I have requested that officials take action against anyone who has donated money for the position. Already, 25–30 people have been imprisoned.”The government officials who engaged in such practices have also been suspended,” CM Sawant stated.
